The Ministry of Water and Irrigation has given attention through the Water Authority (Technical Affairs Sector) for implement the water and wastewater project.
The Water Authority is seeking to implement projects and programs and plans contained in operational program for the years 2011-2013, in order to raise the percentage of citizen's employers in water systems from 97% in 2007 to 98% in 2013, as well as raise the percentage of homes served by sewage network from 61% in 2007 to 70% in 2013.
Strategic objectives of the Water Authority:-
1. Raise the percentage of citizens employers in water systems from 97% in 2007 to 98% in 2013.
2. Raise the percentage of homes served by sewage network from 61% in 2007 to 70% in 2013.
3. Operational programs to achieve the objectives of the Technical Affairs.
The implementation of projects contained in the Technical Affairs Sector in 2011 is including:-
• Implementation of networks and lines and household connections / water and wastewater.
• Rehabilitation of networks and water pipelines in the governorates of the Kingdom.
• Transfer and improve the sewer lines damaged in the capital.
• The establishment of water reservoirs.
• Implementation of water systems within the program to reduce losses in the governorates of the Kingdom.
• The establishment of new treatment plants and modernizing and expanding the list of stations in all regions of the Kingdom.
