Center of excellence for testing, training and water quality research.

 

Mission

We seek to be internationally recognized laboratory covering the full range of water quality parameters and competent research and training body. This can be achieved by fulfilling the following requirements:

  • Competent Staff.

  • State of the art instruments and analytical methods.

  • Updated reliable database.

  • Application of quality system.

  • Proper waste management

 

 

Laboratories

The Laboratory & Quality Department's main building and associated facilities are built on 11,000 m2 of land in the Wadi El-Seer Industrial Zone. The main building area is 3,700 m2 and it consists of two wings: the laboratories and the administration wing, it has been designed, built and furnished according to international standards.

The department working hours extend from 7.30 am till 4 pm 5 days a week (Sunday-Thursday). Moreover, partial shifts cover weekends and national holidays.

 

The laboratories analyze water and wastewater (industrial and domestic) samples. The department is capable of running 160 different tests that are analyzed according to approved and international standard methods using the latest equipment and technologies in the field of physical, chemical, microbiological, and radiation analysis.

 

 

Activities and Services

  • Ensuring the safety and compliance of drinking water quality supplied to all citizens in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to national drinking water standards.

  • Monitoring and assessing of water and wastewater quality to comply with international advances and concerns in regard of public health and environmental issues.

  • Assuring the quality and credibility of the analytical data through participation in proficiency testing programs.

  • Participation in research studies with agencies, universities and local and international research institutes, in the field of water and environmental studies.

  • Participation in technical committees responsible for designing, supervising or planning and managing water and wastewater in Jordan.

  • Providing training for technical personnel on national and regional levels for water and wastewater quality analysis and monitoring and have been approved by the Atomic Energy Agency and World Health Organization as a regional center for training.

  • Paid services for the private sector covering sampling and analysis.

  • Providing different institutions with historical data upon their request.
