Connecting a real estate with the sewage
system
Terms and required documents:
In order to provide a real estate with the
sewage system service, the area must be served with the sewage network. Within
three months as from the date of publishing the announcement in the Official
Gazette, the Citizen must report to the Water Authority in order to connect
his/her real estate with the sewage system (the Subscription Application
Division). Connection with the sewage system is mandatory (obligatory) in order
to avoid sanitary troubles.
1.
A zoning plan showing
the type of zoning or providing it in writing by the Municipality on the
estimation form.
2.
An occupation permit or
a profession license (if possible).
Fees and Stamps:
1.
Fees of Connection:
a.
A fee of 25% of the net
value of the real estate as estimated by the Water Authority will be collected
from the owner.
b.
In case of a building
added to the real estate that has been connected to the sewage network, a fee of
25% will be collected from the net value estimated by the Water Authority
thereof.
2.
Fee of the connection
application:
The connection application fee will be collected
from the Owner as follows:

Stamp Fees:
An amount of JD 10 will be collected as revenue
stamp fees

Venue of Service
Delivery
Offices of departments and directorates at
governorates and LEMA offices in the Capital.
Average Time for Service Delivery: (10 days – 2
weeks)
Procedures:
1.
The real estate owner
reports to the Authority (Subscription Application Division) to proceed with the
connection steps.
2.
The Authority Controller
inspects the real estate and calculates the real space of the building, and the
zoning type in order to calculate fees.
3.
The Controller prepares
the file of subscription to the sewage system and encloses the connection plan.
If the real estate has not been studied, a surveyor studies it and the competent
engineer designs the connection line.
4.
The application file is
signed by the Head of the Subscription Application Division and the Director of
Subscribers’ Directorate.
5.
Fees set according to
the real inspection of the Authority are paid.
6.
The Applicant concludes
an agreement with one of the contractors accredited by the Water Authority to
implement the connection works.
7.
The Authority inspectors
supervise the implementation process.
8.
Procedures are completed
to calculate the service fees on the water bill.
